You don't remember getting knocked out.

That's the best descriptor for the feeling you experience before you wake up. There's a glittering absence of color to your field of vision, and a sensation that you aren't yourself, you aren't anything in particular. Abruptly, unpleasantly, you wake up in a strange, sunny location. Where that is might vary--laying in a sun chair on the pool deck, draped over the skee-ball machine in the arcade, face down in a cart in the laundry room....or just stretched out in the long, long expanse of sand surrounding the island.

There doesn't seem to be anyone else here, aside from the others who have woken up and have as little clue where they might be as you do. It's a silent, empty island filled with a lot of questions and few clear answers. What you can conclude are a few things: that you don't get hungry or tired, that any wounds you have don't seem to either heal or worsen, and leaving the island doesn't seem to be possible.

Maybe it would be good to meet with the others who have woken up?

[ So! Who's near the staff hallway inside the hotel? About two or three hours after everyone has woken up, roughly. ]

[Akutagawa is! He looks disgruntled, as per usual.]

[ Awesome, so! The door to the manager's office is finally opening up. Someone's emerging. ]

[Akutagawa is immediately on guard. Rashomon raises above him.]

Hello there. We've been waiting for someone on staff to show themselves.

[Rashomon growls.]

Choose your next words very wisely. My black beast is hungry.

[ There's a scream and whoever was walking out immediately goes back into the room! And locks the door, from the sound of it. ]

[Karen chooses this moment to happen by, stop, and stare at the entire scene.]

[Well, Karen isn't his problem. Akutagawa spares Karen a passing glance before he growls.]

DON'T DIVE BACK IN! WE WANT ANSWERS! OPEN THE DOOR!

[And now Rashomon is trying to attack the door in one instance of Akutagawa's marvelous display of tact or lack thereof.]

[ No answer. ]

[he's trying to break the door. is the door impervious to this]

[ Yes. His attacks no sell. Pls not attacking the resort building. ]

[OH MY GOD Y'ALL...

Baldr is going to try the more diplomatic approach here. What happens if he walks up to the door and just knocks on it lightly?]

Excuse me, may we ask you a few questions? We mean you no harm, I promise.

[Well. At least HE doesn't.]

[ wow... okay. Minato would be more than comfortable hanging back and watching this all unfold, but that scream has him concerned. He probably can't be heard very well over the commotion, so he comes up to the door when there's an opportunity and presses his ear up against the door, trying to listen for anybody inside. ]

Hello...? Are you alright?

[ Muffled: ]

Why would anyone open the door to that?

[Who left this sassy lost child. Anyway, he swerves around.]

Because they cannot hide in one room forever. They know what they've done, confining us here. Unless you're on their side.

[He's in a very simple us vs them mentality atm.]

[ muffled, from inside the room: ]

What makes you think they can't? Maybe they have a stockpile of food and water and can wait there until whatever's going to happen to us has already happened.

[Logic is sure to work here.]

[ A beat. ]

There's probably a way to pick the lock. We don't have to make our first impression be murder screaming.

[deep breath in]

Alright, Robin. If you can pick the lock...be my guest. The door will not fall from attacks, anyway. So it seems.

[He steps back a bit. Rashomon lowers....a bit.]

[ Cracks her knuckles. ]

The best way to pick a lock iiiiis... to convince whoever's on the other side to open it.

[ She knocks on the door. ]

Hey! The rest of us come in peace! I'm pretty sure!

( --AYO?? kurumi's still not one hundred percent up to snuff but she's not going to just let some scream go ignored. skidding around the corner with her shovel brandished, here comes a special girl! an angy girl. )

( she can accept zombies but she draws the line at weird coat monsters )

One of our captors is inside. We need to get them out.

[Rashomon just kind of. Thrashes a bit behind him. Angwy.]
