week 1

The island stands as still as ever. Finding sparse answers likely hasn't been satisfying, but it seems to be all you can get on your first day at the Pink Prism Resort. You'll find that while you can sleep, you don't have any particular need to, much like your lack of hunger and lack of healing.
The next morning offers no particularly stand-out hints or clues, but maybe you'd like to take a good look around? There's plenty of space to accommodate everyone.

[ She exhales. ]
Also one time I broke a secret Russian code and snuck into their base under my local Midwest shopping mall, but the point is my strengths are mainly. Ear-based. So if you find any spooky recordings, I guess? Or if you have ice cream you really want scooped.
[ A beat. ]
Also what year is it for everyone, because like three people independently told me they were from the next century yesterday and I just think we should get a record.

[wait. no. that's just garlean nobody else counts their calendar like that... and solus is dead anyway so it'd be the first year of...
...]
...The first year of the Seventh Astral Era. Though I will imagine that means naught to many of you given the fact that different entire worlds are at play here...

I will take that as a good thing.

You know, that's the first time in my life when knowing that aught and naught are opposites has actually come up? Huh.

I will admit, I do find it somewhat surprising that despite our extremely disparate origins, we all understand each other with no issue apart from choices in dialect and references to specific places and individuals. You mentioned having knowledge of multiple languages, so you would likely be the best person to ask about this--what do you hear us speaking, exactly?

... IIIII assumed you all just had really solid English chops?

[he ponders a moment…]
There is a certain quality in my world that some individuals possess known as the Echo. Among other things, it allows those who possess it to understand all languages spoken by other intelligent beings… though, no one understands it particularly well.

[Don't worry about it!]
Also it's chill. One time I stole three thousand tons of maple syrup from the Canadian government for fun.

[She seems to realize what she's said, because as soon as she's said "on the run from the FBI" she starts to backtrack.]
I mean. Metaphorically. It was part of an ARG I did for a video game. And the maple syrup was part of a viral marketing campaign.

[ It puts him at ease, actually. It's always good to see that the world you helped keep safe survives for a couple of years before getting overrun by a zombie acopalypse. ]
